About Me
Welcome to The Project Geeks – a space where I document and share all things sewing, knitting, crochet, fabric, patterns and more!
My Sewing Journey
Sewing has been a part of my family for generations, my grandma taught my mum, and my mum taught me. My sewing journey began when I was a young girl, I would sew dresses for my teddy bears which soon developed into sewing dresses for myself – one of my earliest memories is buying a metre of hot pink, sparkly fabric with daisies all over it from John Lewis and making a mini dress, I still have it to this day!
I re-kindled my love for sewing during lockdown in 2020. Honestly, it was an escape for me and something I was able to focus on whilst the world was in turmoil.
Since then I have learnt so many new techniques and completely levelled up my sewing game. I have sold a few pieces along the way but I am now on a mission to make my own wardrobe!!
Disclaimer – I am by no means an expert. I am completely self-taught and still learning how to use different fabrics, patterns and techniques.
What inspired me to start a blog
The Project Geeks was born because I wanted to create a place where I can document and share my latest projects. It’s a little corner on the internet where I track my progress and connect with other craft enthusiasts – follow along for the journey!
Let’s Connect
I believe sewing is not just a craft, but a community. I’d love to hear from you, learn about your sewing projects, and answer any questions you might have. Connect with me on Instagram and Pinterest, or drop me a message on the contact section of the blog.
